Terms of Service
Last updated: September 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the LexMastery website and mobile/web app (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Acceptance of Terms
You must be able to form a binding contract to use LexMastery. By using the Service you confirm you meet the eligibility requirements in Accounts & Eligibility and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
The Service
LexMastery provides exam-style drills, full mocks, written and oral stations, an AI study tutor, and a readiness score for the SQE and UBE/NextGen Bar. LexMastery is a study aid built from published syllabi and study material. It is not a substitute for official guidance from the SRA, NCBE, your law school, or any bar admission authority, and it does not constitute legal advice.
Accounts & Eligibility
You need an account to use most of the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at support@lexmastery.com if you suspect unauthorized use. The Service is not directed to children; see the Children's Privacy section of our Privacy Policy for our age requirements.
Subscriptions & Billing
Some features require a paid subscription, billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Pricing, billing cycles, renewals, and cancellations are handled by the respective app store under its own terms; manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store or Play Store account settings. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or by the app store's own refund policy.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share your account, or resell or redistribute access to the Service.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or extract our question bank, marking logic, or underlying models.
- Use the Service to cheat in a proctored or invigilated examination.
- Upload unlawful, infringing, or abusive content, or attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service's security.
- Use automated means to access the Service outside of the interfaces we provide.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Your Content
“Your Content” means the answers, essays, audio recordings, and other material you submit through drills, written stations, oral stations, and Shadow Tutor. You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant LexMastery a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, and analyze Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, including generating transcripts, marking, and feedback. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it to train third-party foundation models beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
AI Output & No Guarantee Of Results
Marking, feedback, transcripts, and Shadow Tutor answers are generated in part by artificial intelligence. AI output can be incomplete or contain errors, and it does not replace guidance from a qualified tutor, supervisor, or the official examining body. Your readiness score is a study signal, not a prediction or promise. LexMastery does not guarantee any exam outcome, pass rate, admission, or qualification result.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its questions, marking grids, model answers, software, and branding, is owned by LexMastery or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own exam preparation. You may not copy, publish, or distribute our content outside the Service.
Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers, for example for AI processing, voice synthesis, cloud hosting, and payments through the app stores. Their own terms may apply to features they support, and LexMastery is not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services outside our control.
Disclaimers & Limitation Of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LexMastery will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any exam result, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law) will survive.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
